Answer : There are some references to winter in the poem.
They are : the woods was full of snow. There was a lake the water of which was frozen. The easy wind was blowing. There was downy flake. It was the darkest evening of the year.

(b) What is the poet's response to the beauty of the woods?

Answer : The poet's response to the beauty of the woods was romantic. He loved the woods and its atmosphere. It seemed lovely, dark and deep to the poet. But for his sense of duty he could not enjoy the scene for long time.
