1. Who was Munshi Ramsevak? What kind of man was he?

Answer : Munshi Ramsevak was a very rich man in the village of Chandpur. Everyone called him 'attorney'. He was fraud and treacherous. People entrusted money to him but he cheated them.

2. How did Munshi Ramsevak earn his livlihood?
(মুন্সি ৰামসেৱকে কিদৰে তেওঁৰ জীৱিকা উপার্জন কৰিছিল?)
Answer : Munshi Ramsevak earned his livelihood with the money which was entrusted with him by the widows and old men of his locality.

3. Who was Munga? Why did Munga entrust all her money to Ramsevak?
(মুংগা কোন আছিল ? তাই কিয় তাইৰ সকলো টকা ৰামসেৱকৰ জিম্বাত থৈছিল?)
Answer : Munga was a Brahman widow. Her husband was a sergeant in the native Indian battalion in Burma. who died in the battle. After her husband's death in the battle the governemnt had bestowed a sum of ruppes 500 and being a widow and times being hard she entrusted all her money to Ramsevak.

4. What complaint did Munga lodge against Munshi? Did she get justice?

Answer : The complaint Munga lodged against Munshi was that he denied to pay back the money that was entrusted to Ramsevak by her. She did not get justice.

5. Why did the council acquit Munshi?

Answer : For not having any valid evidence against Ramsevak, the council acquitted him.

6. How did Munga earn the title of the local mad woman?

Answer : Having lost her mind along with her money she had earned the title of the 'local mad woman'.

7. What did Ramgulam do with Munga?

Answer : Ramgulam was very cruel to her. Wherever Munga appeared, Ramgulam would keep after Munga, clapping his hands and taking the village dogs with him, until the poor woman utterly bewildered and fled the village.

8. What happened to Munshiji?

Answer : Munshiji was treacherous. He denied to return the money that was entrusted by Munga to him. Consequently the curse of the poor woman fell on him and he suffered a lot. He lost his social status when Munga died in the threshold of Ramsevak. He, along with his family, began to be haunted by the constant thought of Munga. His wife died of Mugna's fear. Then Ramsevak went to Badrinath. After some months he seemed to reutrn to the village and seen to be lost in meditaton under a tree. Then he was not seen.

9. What happened to Munga?
(মুংগাৰ কি ঘটিছিল ?
Answer : Munga was a poor widow. Her husband was a police sergeant. He died in a battle. The government bestowed 500 rupees on her in return for the service of her husband. She entrusted all her money to Ramsevak. But when Ramsevak denied to return the money she became mad. She ceased to work. All the time, day and night, she seemd to inveigh Ramsevak. When her hatred for Ramsevak reached the climax she shrieked out the terrible words, "I'll drink your blood!" Eventually, one night she went to the courtyard of Ramsevak and kept shrieking and howling. That very night she died there. Thus she met a very pathetic death.
