EXERCISE (āĻ…āύুāĻļীāϞāύী) :

A. Answer the following questions (āϤāϞāϤ āĻĻিāϝ়া āĻĒ্ā§°āĻļ্āύāĻŦোā§°ā§° āωāϤ্āϤ⧰ āĻĻিāϝ়া) :

1. What things did occur to the king's mind ?
(āĻ•ি āĻ•āĻĨা ā§°āϜাāϜāύ⧰ āĻŽāύāϞৈ āφāĻšিāĻ›িāϞ ?)
Answer : The things that occured to the king's mind were to know the right time to begin a thing, the right people to consult with and the most important work to do for him.

2. What were the three questions that the king had proclaimed throughout his kingdom?
(āĻ•ি āϤিāύিāϟা āĻĒ্āϰāĻļ্āύ ā§°āϜাāϜāύে āĻ—োāϟেāχ āĻĻেāĻļāϜুā§°ি āϘোāώāĻŖা āϕ⧰ি āĻĻিāĻ›িāϞ ?)
Answer : The three questions that the king proclaimed throughout his kingdom were :

First, what the right time was to begin a work.
Second, who the important poeple was with whom he might consult.
Third, what the most important thing was to do
for the king.

3. Was the king contented with the answers given by the various learned men? What did he do then?

Answer : The king was not contented with the answers given by the various learned men. To get the right answer, he went to a widely known hermit.

4. Where did the hermit live?
(āϏāύ্āύাāϏীāϜāύ āĻ•’āϤ āĻŦāϏāĻŦাāϏ āϕ⧰িāĻ›িāϞ?)
Answer : The hermit lived in a wood.

5. Why did the king, go to the hermit alone?
(ā§°āϜাāϜāύে āĻ•িāϝ় āĻ…āĻ•āϞে āϏāύ্āύাāϏীāϜāύ⧰ āĻ“āϚ⧰āϞৈ āĻ—ৈāĻ›িāϞ?)
Answer : The king went to the hermit alone because he received none but common folk.

6. What was the hermit doing when the king approached him?
(āϝেāϤিāϝ়া ā§°āϜাāϜāύ āφāĻ—āĻŦাāĻĸ়ি āĻ—ৈāĻ›িāϞ āϤেāϤিāϝ়া āϏāύ্āύাāϏীāϜāύে āĻ•ি āϕ⧰ি āφāĻ›িāϞ ?)
Answer : When the king approached the hermit, he was digging the ground in front of his hut.

7. What did the king do with the wounded man?
(āφāϘাāϤāĻĒ্āϰাāĻĒ্āϤ āĻŽাāύুāĻšāϜāύāĻ• āϞৈ ā§°āϜাāϜāύে āĻ•ি āϕ⧰িāĻ›িāϞ?)
Answer : The king unfastened the wounded man's clothing and found a wound in his stomach. Then the king washed the wound as best as he could and bandaged it with his handerkership and towel of the hermit.

8. Who was that wounded man? What was his intention?
(āφāϘাāϤāĻĒ্āϰাāĻĒ্āϤ āĻŽাāύুāĻšāϜāύ āĻ•োāύ āφāĻ›িāϞ? āϤেāĻ“ঁā§° āωāĻĻ্āĻĻেāĻļ্āϝ āĻ•ি āφāĻ›িāϞ?)
Answer : The wounded man was the king's enemy.
Once the king executed the man's brother and seized his property. Since then the man swore to revenge himself on the king. His intention was to kill the king.

9. What answer did the king meet finally?
(āĻ…ā§ąāĻļেāώāϤ ā§°āϜাāϜāύে āĻ•ি āωāϤ্āϤ⧰ āĻĒাāχāĻ›িāϞ?)
Answer : Finally the king meets the following answers -
Frist, the present time is the most important time to begin a thing.
Second, the most important man is he with whom he is at present.
Third, the most important thing is to do good to
people.

10. What is the most important thing to do?
(āϕ⧰িāĻŦāϞāĻ—া āφāϟাāχāϤāĻ•ৈ āĻ—ুā§°ুāϤ্āĻŦāĻĒূā§°্āĻŖ āĻ•াāĻŽāϟো āĻ•ি ?)
Answer : The most important thing is to do good to people.

D. Write 'True' or 'False' (‘āϏঁāϚা’ āĻŦা ‘āĻŽিāĻ›া’ āϞিāĻ–া) :

1. The hermit lived in a wood.
Answer : True.

2. The hermit could not answer the king's questions.
Answer : False.

3. The king attended to his enemy?
Answer : True.

4. All the learned men answered the king's questions differently.
Answer : True.

5. The hermit was widely renowned for his wisdom.
Answer : True.
